领航之舟驶过历史之河，逐梦之舟勇立时代潮头，2023年，浙师担当作为，书写新篇。

这一年，浙师擎旗奋进，高站位强基固本培根铸魂。落实习近平总书记考察浙江重要讲话精神，高质量开展学习贯彻习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想主题教育，持续推进“八八战略”走实走深。以最高政治站位全力护航亚运，两场一馆唱响“手足相亲、同爱同在、精彩纷呈”协奏曲。全面从严治党纵深推进，开展两轮校内巡察，实施信仰力提升工程，获批省习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想现场教学点、首批全省高校示范性党群服务中心、国家民委铸牢中华民族共同体意识研究基地等。1名干部获评省担当作为好干部，1个项目获教育部高校思政工作精品项目，1项成果入选教育部深化新时代教育评价改革典型案例。

这一年，浙师团结奋斗，高水平大学建设稳步推进。担负教育强国新使命，聚焦“四大建设”，入选区域国别学国家急需高层次人才培养专项，成立全国首个非洲区域国别学学部；获国家人文社科、自然科学重点项目12项，首获国家自然科学基金重点国际（区域）合作研究项目；新增省部级科研平台8个，获省哲社优秀成果一等奖5项，校友会2023人文社科学术排名第43。学校综合实力连续13年在国内外多个有影响力的排行榜中位居百强，USNews2023世界大学排名国内高校第67，首次跻身2023软科世界大学学术排名全球500强。

这一年，浙师踔厉奋发，高质量内涵发展聚势增能。落实立德树人根本任务，完成教育部本科教育教学进校审核评估，获国家教学成果奖一等奖2项、二等奖4项，新增国家一流课程12门；所有专业投档分均高于省特控线，超分值历年最高；再捧“挑战杯”竞赛“优胜杯”，列全国高校学科竞赛排行第37。持续推进人才新政22条，新增4个博士后科研流动站，高层次人才引育成效显著。国际化办学进一步拓展，举办国际量子光学大会、中非智库论坛等国际学术会议，成立浙江师范大学堪萨斯大学联合教育学院、中非大学联盟交流机制研究院，国际中文教育和援外培训工作走在全国前列。

这一年，浙师扬帆奋楫，高品质幸福家园再谱新篇。实施教育共富“十大行动”，合作办学再创新高；召开新一届“双代会”，深化民主办学；数理医学院、教育培训中心、青年人才公寓项目开工建设，持续做好“民生工程十大实事”；统筹推进“云上浙师”建设，初步建成“浙师大脑”，入选省数字教育试点单位；举办教职工荣休盛典、学生榜样人物荣誉盛典，师生获得感、幸福感、荣誉感持续增强。

2024，是实施“十四五”规划关键一年，我们全力以赴推进基础设施提质工程，大力发展新质生产力，勇当先行者。

2024，是中华人民共和国成立75周年，我们浓墨重彩描绘高水平大学建设画卷，建设中华民族现代文明，再谱新篇章。

Time is a flowing river and its current brings a fascinating future. We are now at the point of bidding farewell to the past and ushering into a new endeavour. Looking back, we are confident: we have comprehensively implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), kept our mission firmly in mind, and forged ahead with enterprise and fortitude as Zhejiang province pioneers in achieving common prosperity with Chinese characteristics and modernization. Looking forward, we are high-spirited: we will with all our might continue the high-level university-building cause and strive in unity for an outstanding world-class Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU). At this moment, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude and New Year’s wishes to all our students, faculty and staff, retired colleagues, alumni both at home and abroad, and friends from all walks of life.

Following Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, we actively supported the Hangzhou Asian Games, utilizing our three on-campus sports venues to foster bond, love and harmony. As the pilot boat sails through the river of history, our dream seekers stand at the forefront of this era. Throughout 2023, our unwavering dedication and remarkable achievements have underscored our pivotal role in this new chapter.

We have strived in unity and steadily progressed in the high-level university-building cause. In the new mission of building China with a strong education, ZJNU has highlighted extensive team, platform, project and outcome fostering. It was enrolled in the special project for urgently-needed high-level talent cultivation in Region and Country Studies and set up the first Faculty of African Region and Country Studies in China. It has 12 national key projects in humanities and social sciences and natural sciences, and claimed its first national key international (regional) cooperative research project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It has added 8 new programmes to provincial or ministerial research platforms. Five of its researches were the first prize winners for excellent achievements by Zhejiang Philosophy and Social Science Association. The alumni association ranked 43rd in the 2023 academic ranking of humanities and social sciences. The University has ranked among the top 100 in multiple influential domestic and international rankings for 13 consecutive years; 67th among Chinese universities on the 2023 Best Global Universities Rankings - US News; and for the first time, among the top 500 in the 2023 ShanghaiRanking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).

We have forged ahead with enterprise and fortitude and gained new momentum in high-quality development. ZJNU has committed itself to the fundamental task of cultivating talents with virtue. It completed the MoE campus review and evaluation (undergraduate). It has won 2 first prizes and 4 second prizes in the National Teaching Achievement Award. Its 12 courses have been added to the list of national first-class courses. All undergraduate programmes’ admission filing cutoff scores were higher than the provincial cutoff scores, with the highest exceeding score in history. It has won another Victory Cup in the “Challenge Cup” competition and ranked 37th in the Chinese university student competition index. It has upheld the new policies for staff recruitment, founded 4 new postdoctoral research stations, and achieved significantly in attracting high-level talents. It has also bettered its internationalization by hosting international academic conferences, such as the International Conference on Quantum Photonics and the China-Africa Think Tanks Forum. It has established the Joint Education Institute of Zhejiang Normal University and University of Kansas and the Institute of China-Africa Consortium of Universities Exchange Mechanism. Meanwhile, ZJNU also takes the lead in international Chinese language education and foreign aid training in China.

We have endeavoured to open a new chapter for a high-quality and happy home. The University has implemented the “Ten Major Actions” for Education and Common Prosperity and achieved new heights in cooperative school running. It has started a new session of ZJNU faculty and staff representative conference and continued to enhance democracy. It has launched the College of Mathematical Medicine, Educational Training Center and Young Talent Apartment Project, and proceeded on the “Ten Practical Projects for People’s Livelihood”. It has coordinated to promote “Cloud ZJNU” and arrived at an initial “Cloud ZJNU Brain”, and entered the provincial pilot list for digital education. The University convened the faculty retirement ceremony and the student role model grand celebration, which elevated the sense of achievement, happiness and honour of both teachers and students.

The year 2024 is crucial for the 14th Five-Year Plan. We will make every effort to push forward infrastructure improvement projects, vigorously develop new quality productivity, and break new ground.

The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. We will remain devoted to the high-level university-building cause to contribute to a modern Chinese civilization and write new chapters.
