风力等级表是根据平地上离地10米处风速值大小制定的。在一般情况下以0至12级共13个级别表示，但在特殊情况下存在13级以上的风力等级。

二、风向标英语用什么字母表示

风向标的英语是wind vane。

测定风向的仪器之一为风向标，它一般离地面10-12米高，如果附近有障碍物，其安置高度至少要高出障碍物6米以上，并且指北的短棒要正对北方。风向箭头指在哪个方向，就表示当时刮什么方向的风。测风器上还有一块长方形的风压板（重型的重800克，轻型的重200克），风压板旁边装一个弧形框子，框上有长短齿。风压板扬起所过长短齿的数目，表示风力大小。

分类

风标通过垂直轴、角度传感器将风向信号传递出去，传送和指示风向标所在方位的方法很多，有电触点盘、环形电位、自整角机和光电码盘4种类型，其中最常用的是光电码盘。

风向杆的安装方位指向正南。风速仪（风速和风向）一般安装在离地10m的高度上。
